Organic care for Acne
Acne is the medical word used to describe anything from the occasional blemish through the spectrum of pimples, blackheads, white heads and even large cysts and painful swellings. The use of the word acne does not imply that one slight blemish will necessarily progress to anything more serious.
Often people with acne don’t know how to look after their skin correctly and make the problem worse.
You should always cleanse the skin morning and night whether you have worn make up or not. You need to clean all the excess oil off the skin making it clean and fresh.
Exfoliate once a week. Most people with acne want to exfoliate more then this as it makes the skin feel very clean, but over exfoliating causes stimulation to the sebaceous gland and that creates more oil! However, it does get rid of dead skin cells and allows new skin cells to develop so it is important to do once a week
Moisturise every day and night. Most people with acne hate the thought of moisturising the skin. It’s a matter of finding the correct moisturiser for you. Once you have found the right moisturiser it is a crucial part to your skin care routine. The skin can still be dehydrated even if it is oily! If the skin is dehydrated it will create more oil!
It is important to have a good basic skin care routine but also to use deeper products, such as a masque or serum. These will help draw oil to the surface and help with irritation. Masques should be done about once a week, left on for 10-15 mins then washed off. It is best to do this after you exfoliate. Serums are to use under your moisturiser day and night and help all the acne concerns.

Excellent advice. I’m going to post a link of this podcast on my blackboard website for my students. Everything you said works for discussion boards too.
